أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ
MEANING
Allat- stands for lightening, bright, glistening, a shining object. Shine with flickering light. A pearl.
Due to its brilliance it negates the surrounding thus taken for no, refusal, denial. Thus this negation is not due to ignorance or lack of something but due to excess and brightness. Denial of an intellectual or a scholar or educated person.
It also represents descend and because of descend it progressively gets clear.
Because of high affinity, force of attraction other objects get around it and keep spinning around it.
INTERPRETATION
Humans are inherently idol worshipers and they like to give form, a physical form to their inner star. This outer form differs according to region, era and human development.
Know that Allah is the only one God. If you do not obey one Allah, you definitely obey some other god. This other god can be your own self, some one else self, or some other created being or some intellectual being or a technological advancement.
As the world increasingly is following some other gods all over the world this will reach its perfection as an other god before the end of times and hence idols will be perfected.
In the end of days, idol worship will be similar but their representation will not be in stone but in metal. Yes metallic and digital world which will be hard wired. People will be fixed to their points and will not be able to break from it. Now understand that idol is one to whom one turns toward again and again either in need or to remove harm or gain some benefit. If you train people long enough to certain so called guidelines people very easily forget all else. The hallmark of digital world is its accuracy, fixed , calculated and in the future , to control everything you need to control human behaviour. People will be forced to follow digital world stars, prominent personalities and set of rules to survive in that era. These idols will be more of inner nature with an intellectual need for it.
Islam demands that there should be no idol. Each individual is a separate being and should be given full access to everything needed for his development. No internal idols, ideals. No external idols of bygone peoples. People must accept islam. Break their inner idols, fixtures, and following. Break the external social restrictions which impede their growth.Freedom from all idols and submission to Allah only. Allah, who has no equal and no mithal (example).
