EID (عيد )
The word eid ( عيد ) itself does not occur in Arabic root words and hence carry aggregate of meaning within it.
The customary external meaning is a day of celebration, rejoice.
However the root meaning is inability to complete a task to full count, fatigue out, to repeat or come in repitition.
So while the external meaning relates to happiness the internal meaning relates more to warning i.e. ( وعيد ) as much as people fail to complete the order of Allah.
The word eid occurs only once in Quran:
Surah Maaida: verse 114:
ا رَبَّنَا أَنزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَائِدَةً مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًا
(O Allah our lord descend over us table set with viands from heaven and turn it into eid )
and that too accompanied with warning:
Surah Maaida: verse 115:
فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بَعْدُ مِنكُمْ فَإِنِّي أُعَذِّبُهُ عَذَابًا لَّا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
(But if any of you after that resisteth faith, I will punish him with a penalty such as I have not inflicted on any one among all the peoples)
If you follow the verse, Allah send down the nourishment’s, and ended the verse with :
وَارْزُقْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Actually on this day, as an individual you have to provide food for others, and do charity, while government has to make welfare projects , give jobs etc for people. You have to increase provisions ( rizq) and provide people with daily requirements.
If you deny this, don’t do like this, keep spending everything on your own self, everyone gets involved in squandering and hoarding, keep decorating its own self, keep rifting people of their money by increasing prices, making items costly and difficult to access, , this is a practical Kufr of what Allah has ordered and thus warning of punishment.
This is how eid is transformed into wa-eid ( warning)
People celebrate eid in the name of Rasool that they have said it so, but again follow the verse and you find that Rasool will deny this on day of judgment.
أَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ
Remember that punishment is made sweet for people. One meaning of عذاب in Arabic is sweet. So people who deny the root meaning go to external meaning and eat sweet on this day not knowing that on the day of judgment there is really a punishment for it.
The real day of eid will be the day when you use all your power, resources and intellect for the betterment of people.
Look how we have wasted the true Islam and its root meaning for the sweetness of this world.
Hereby, Be Warned.
