Fear is one of the core properties of your soul and most of the time the soul is kept in balance between fear and hope, between afraid and happiness. So if you are happy to achieve something you might get a fear of losing it.
Why fear?
It follows that fear if used in the right way helps the soul to achieve great heights and eminence but if used in the wrong way fear can lead to suppression and destruction of soul.
Allah has asked you to be afraid of HIM and HIM alone. While asking you to be afraid, Allah has not made you afraid of HIMSELF. Has HE done so and made you fearful no one would have lived through HIS fear, rather Allah has the ruling property of AL REHMAN over you.
So what is the demand of Allah’s fear?
As a believer, if you fear Allah it means you do not fear anyone else. Thus actually fear of Allah makes you fearless. Remember three stages of fear
- Fear Allah- meaning obedience of Islamic laws.
- Become fearless- a total believe in word and action that nothing happens without Allah’s will.
- Become a FEAR for others- Nonbelievers (kafirs) should be really afraid of you.
Allah rewards you for all the three levels but if you achieve the third level this is perfect HAMD, a balance which has been demanded from you. This is what our Prophet Muhammad did, the perfect Hamd and all the kafirs were very much afraid of Him.
Now you should know the purpose of fear. Allah has given this property to soul so that soul can worship Allah through fear.
In the afterlife because of your worship through fear, Allah will remove this property of soul and it will be declared: “now there is no fear over you- enter My paradise”
