DEATH OF KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge refers to your ability to know may it be esoteric or exoteric, of past or future.
So with you lies the capacity to know but the question is to know what and from what?
Allah has the absolute knowledge of all the things as originally they are. HE granted you this ability to know and even though your knowledge becomes a relative knowledge, Allah accepts and asks you to pray for more knowledge.

رب زد ني علما

The increase is from relative to absolute and thus becomes an effort for a higher knowledge, to rise to a higher level. The more near to absolute, more perfect it becomes, the more you are illuminated and more you become near to Allah.
The pitfall lies when you think your relative knowledge as absolute and keep on striving in it, remain busy at the same level and although even by this you get remarkable technological advancements, you fail to get the higher goal.
Know that if you don’t accept and acknowledge the Absolute, which lies with Allah, you have no chance of achieving the absolute knowledge.
Allah has revealed HIS Book through HIS Messengers and there acceptance is a mandatory step in achieving the absolute nearness to Allah.
As the time passes you have forgotten the essential function of knowledge and you use this tool to play around in this world, thereby causing death of knowledge, death of true function of knowledge and hence your knowledge does not benefits you. End of times is the end of absolute knowledge and increase in relative knowledge.
So people repent and ask Allah for absolute knowledge, the light and say

ربنا اتمم لنا نورنا
