Quran is word of Allah and a complete guide. It gives instructions on every possible action which humanity can take and also tell about the end result of such actions.
Quran has given examples in this respect of different nations, describing their characteristics and giving the end result of their doings. If anyone follow these nations and adopt their character as mentioned in Quran he is sure to meet the fate of previous nations unless he repents.
One such nation was Aad (عاد ), people who used to exceed the limits . Read these two verses:
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ [٢٦:١٢٨]
| “Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? | ||
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ [٢٦:١٢٩]
| “And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein ? |
Building prominent markings on the entrance of cities , high places, crossings followed by houses to live in which are meant to last was the characteristic of people of Aad (عاد) and now you see and most of us like to live in such places built by real estate people. Do you see the resemblance, do you know who are you following, and if you see you should be sure of the outcome which was the outcome of people of Aad.
Repent now and do not dwell in such towns. This is only a remembrance for you and if you still continue to do so look what Rasool has to say about it:
وَيَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُوا عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ ۖ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ ۖ وَارْتَقِبُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ [١١:٩٣]
| “And O my people! Do whatever over your places: I will do (my part): Soon will ye know who it is on whom descends the penalty of ignominy; and who is a liar! and watch ye! for I too am watching with you!” |
