WHAT IS MY RELIGION? – Deen ( دين )
An important question everyone should be asking himself or herself before the verbal declaration, before uttering the words which we don’t really mean or understand, before our self proclamation of religion whether be Jew, Christian or Muslim.
How to determine my religion? Is saying few words sufficient? Or more important whether saying of words will be sufficient in after world? If yes, what is the criteria?
To answer all these questions we should understand a word in Quran – DEEN ( دين)
This word can be used in many sense but here we highlight two aspects. One meaning is the way, the order, code of conduct and law, while the other side means what you earn, gain, income. These are like two sides of a coin or two limbs of a body. One reflects the other. If one is an internal aspect the other is external.
So a same word when reflected in soul imply your way of life, what you work for, and has made effort for. And when reflected in outer world this way is best evident by your transactions, your dealings with other, your economics.
You see your work is entrapped in the form of your income be it be money and for this reason you find that in shariah an act can be recompensed with either an act or money, like you can fast or give some charity for some mistake.
So ( دِين) is reflected in (دَين )
If you have understood, you can know the religion of a person, of a group, of a nation by economic laws, how you earn and spend.
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ
The only transactions /religion near Allah is Islam.
Hence only deal in Islamic ways, but before starting beware of the devil sitting in your way, ready to deceive you, ready to make wrong way look right. The devil will use the same weapon as yours to turn the way i.e intellect and thus will guide you, your group and whole nation to follow other ways , leading you astray, far from Islam and thus far from Allah.
